Various comments on today's AOTD, which was mostly wrong answers :p
My own call-out comment detailing how most of the answers were wrong, as well as my replies to the comments that said the Mondial was awesome all got plenty of stars.

Thanks! I missed the AOTD post. I'll read it. I like the subject.

I like the Mondial too, if it captures the passion of a Ferrari, what's the need of it being a fast car?

Check it out. Some decent comments. It led to me doing research on the Mondial. Now I want to buy one! I definitely don't think the car deserved all the negative press it got. Especially the later model cars. Sure the early ones were slow but every non V12 Ferrari from around 78 to 83 was kind of slow. The Mondial did get quicker over time. I would want an 1988 Mondial 3.2

I like the early cars because the whole slow car fast AND a Ferrari? No Ferarri has that better than the Mondial 8! Also you get a cup holder and the best 85-mph speedo ever

That speedo is awesome!! It would be fun to drive the living piss out of a Mondial 8. It's been a long time since I've been able to drive a car at 10/10ths. Not since my first car (E30 318i) could I floor it without going to jail.
One of the commenters on today's post said his dad once purchased a Mondial 8 new. I researched the car and found that it carried forward the drivetrain and chassis from an earlier Dino. This may have actually made it cheap to maintain. It had mechanical fuel injection. My dad used to have an Alfa with mechanical fuel injection. It was time consuming to maintain but it wasn't expensive. He had to tune the car after a certain number of miles to keep it running right. But he was able to do it himself in the garage without fancy tools or a lift.

Yes, it shares that shit with the Dino GT4, which in turn shares it with the 308 (and later 328). All of the above are said to be the most reliable Ferraris and reasonable to maintain, especially by Ferrari standards!

I love how the early 308s look soooo much. They bumpers were more elegant than later 308s and the 328.
That being said I would love to have a clean 328. I occasionally check the prices of both the 308 and 328 and they seem to be going up. I've seen clean low-mileage 328 cars for over $60K. I dunno if those owners are being unrealistic or that's where the market is actually at. But you could get them for a lot less than that previously. Seems like everyone knows that the 328 is the best performing Ferrari that has reasonable maintenance costs so everyone wants one. You can get an F355 for that price but the engine has to come out more often when doing service.
